A good tech pack turns design intent into measurable instructions. It gives sourcing, pattern, sampling, costing and quality teams one controlled reference for the product.
Create a clear overview
Start with style name, season, target customer, fit description and front and back technical drawings. Give every style a stable code. Reference images communicate direction but should not replace written requirements.
Build the bill of materials
List shell fabric, lining, rib, thread, zippers, buttons, labels, artwork and packaging. Include composition, weight, color, supplier reference, placement and acceptable alternatives.
Specify construction and measurements
Use callouts for seams, stitch types, hems, pockets, reinforcement and finishing. Provide a point-of-measure diagram and base-size measurements with tolerances.
Manage revisions
Send one consolidated comment sheet after each sample review. Update the master tech pack, use clear version numbers and issue a final production version after sample approval.
